I have a Galileo telescope. It has a mars eye finder which is apparently used to find objects better. I need?
help with using this mars eye finder. Could anyone please give an explanation on how to use it? Thanks, it would be a great help.
I believe that Mars eye finder is a kind of finder called a red dot finder. It projects a red dot on a clear glass window at the front of the finder using a small battery powered laser, like a laser pointer. Then you look through the window from the back and see what appears to be a red dot floating in the sky. The red dot appears to be in the same spot in the sky where the telescope is pointing. This you helps to point the telescope more exactly than just sighting along the edge of the tube, or guessing.
