Why are the corners of my fisheye lens blurry?
i bought a phoenix .45x Wide Angle lens for my aiptek A-HD HD camcorder. i watched a tutorial on youtube on how to flip the lens inside out to make the wide angle turn into a fisheye lens. it worked perfectly except for the fact that my corners arent black they are blurry. The guy who made the tutorial, his came out fine and u saw the black edges. also, when i use the camera option and take a picture with my camcorder, the corners are black and it looks like a perfect fisheye lens. Can someone please help me with this i need to solve the problem fast and find an answer to it because i need to start filming soon. Thanks alot
thats normal! using a fisheye, you will get distortion around the edges.
i have a sony a200 is it worth getting a screw on 55mm 0.45x Wide Angle Lens?
to attach to my kit lens or is it a waste of money?
I would not do that at all. When you compromise, you lose quality. It might not be noticeable, but then again, it may be. I* would not spent the money on it.
Then again, you did not say what type of wide angle you would want. The basic lens for your camera is, I think, an 18-70mm, and that would give you a 35mm equivalent range of about 30-110mm.
Look instead for Minolta lenses that certainly fit on your Sony, you can get them used for a lot less than you would pay for a newer lens and they are excellent lenses. You may lose some features depending on which lens you find - things like Auto Focus, but it is easy enough to learn how to focus and to set your shutter speed and f stops.
If you can find good aftermarket lenses for the Minoltas, you can get them them in Sigma and Tamron and save some money
